The full error is "The instruction at "ox77f57bd2"
referenced memory at "0x01c50010". The memory could not
be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program" I
suspected a virus but none was found. I looked for
updates and didn't find any either. Why do I get this
error everytime I close my browser? Let me know!

Scan the system with Ad-Aware (www.lavasoftusa.com) and eliminate the
malware products causing the abnormal program termination.

If the problem continues, reinstall Internet Explorer using this method:

The MS KB is Win XP only, not everyone runs XP :-)
