are you at work, on a network ? are you sending an attachment of any
kind ? a skin for WMP to someone ?

many network admins will ban all or certain attachments as dangerous.

Also, from memory, some microsoft clients will not download
attachments by default.

WMP Skins (.WMS) files are really just HTML and probably run in the "My Computer"
security zone (i.e. "no security"). There has been some kind of malware that
used them (or their compressed form, .WMZ ??) too, though offhand I do not recall
its name.

The first point alone should make one highly wary of accepting them from other
than the most trusted of sources...

the question is.what I must to do?
must I delet all wmz files ?
when I send my mails they are scanned by Norton anti virus.
Nadir

Yes. The Norton antivirus scanns all mails automaticaly.
and I don not work in a network I forgot to say.

do you send emails in html format - fancy pictures, colours, bullet
points etc - if so, then some av software or email clients may stop
that and view your email as sending an attachment - even if norton
says it is ok.

switch to plain text may work

If it were my decision to make, I would scan the machine with
every type of computer scanner I could (except a flatbed).

....at the risk of sounding like "Tracker" ~

Wmz files are involved in some autoexecution exploits. It is
not beyond logic that you have been hacked and the remote
user is sending these e-mail exploits out to compromise other
machines.

Nick mentions "malware" rather than "worm" or "virus" in his
response, and he usually picks his words carefully. There may
not be a worm ~ yet.
