The IBM Death Star Strikes With Avvengance!

I've had three IBM drives fail on me, all 20Gb and all from around the year 2000.

Wonder if mine looked like that?

Haven't bought an IBM drive since, but I'd probably take a chance with an Hitachi drive, who took over the IBM hard disk side of things.
 
2 x IBM failed on me too. Luckily (well, sort of), they were replaced under warrenty without much trouble (all done online).

I've actually got a Deathstar in my draw with the drive platter all scraped away :)
 
Slightly Off-Topic but i just had a Maxtor 80Gb SATA fail on me!!

Aria were out of them so they are sending me one that costs a quid more - the Seagate one. Hope it's better than the Maxtor...
