The hyperlinks not working in outlook

Some of the hyperlinks in my otlook have stopped working. I remember getting
rid of firefox because I found it irritating. It was leading me to specify
the program to use to open the hyperlink. I pointed out to IE explorer and
it worked once only. Is there a way I can get back to my hperlinks working
in outlook messages?
 
I have this problem - mine gives me a "this operation has been cancelled..."
error. I use Vista, Outlook 2007 and it worked ok until lately. Hard to tell
what might have done it. I also use IE7, whihc has no web reset in its tools.
I've posted this before but can't find it. Thanks.

Tools>Internet Options>Advanced>Reset
 
I found this to work for Vista:
Open Control Panel
Go to Default Programs
Go to Set Programs and Computer Defaults
Go to Custom, and choose: Internet Explorer and check the box marked: enable
access to this program.

Worked like a charm... I hope this helps
