Just wondering if anyone has played this yet, and what are your thoughts?

IMO it is a so-so remake of Mafia, with adapted fight and shooting options.

I dont like the limited choice of vehicles, and also the fact the in Mafia the cars evolved over the years of the story, not so with TG.

There are only about 5 different biulding layouts, so you soon learn your way around all the buildings, not very realistic! You also find the enemy aways hide in the same places, behind the same furniture etc, which are also in the same places.

It is also a bit short.
I have finished it in less than 12 hours, including a quite tedius last 2 hours just doing mindless tasks that 'The Don', which I have now become, would have given to a minion like I was just 8 hours earlier, if you get my drift!

What was nice, was finding out that the maps are the same as in Mafia, infact it helps to have played Mafia before, because getting from a to b seems so familiar.

I think I will be re-installing Mafia again...................

Ah Mafia, what a game :D

The few hous I've had with the PS2 version of Godfather, I've not particularly enjoyed at all.

Yeah i had a feeling that godfather would be a poor game. i think all that time they were making it, they just made it look pretty with the graphics

Paid £20.00 for it from a Game store on Sunday.

I'm enjoying it, which is what counts I suppose.

Only thing I'm not keen on is long time between saves.

It is certainly a helluva lot easier than Mafia, that's for sure.

I actually reinstalled Mafia recently, I only completed about half of that game the first time around so thought I'd give it another go. So far I'm up to where I'm stealing the racing car just before the race, so haven't got far yet.

As for the Godfather, from what I've played of it so far I'd say it was worth fifteen quid so if you're dithering, just wait til it comes down in price.

I actually like this game. Currently at Don level and working my way up to Don on NYC. Though i must say i havent played it for about a m,onth as i have been playing Oblivion and a few other games.
