When I look in Tools -> Internet Options... I no longer
have a "Gerneral" tab. This is where you can set your
default home page. I want to change my home page, but the
tab isn't there anymore...just content, security, privacy,
connections, advanced.

How do I get it back?

How do I set my home page if it's missing?

Thanks!!

Mongo6 posted this solution, I had the same problem and it
fixed it......goto
Start-run-regedit
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\POLICIES\MICROSOFT\INTERNET\EXP
LORER\CONTROL PANEL

REMOVE THE GENERAL TAB

EXIT

START IE

YOUR TAB SHOULD KNOW BE BACK

Start-Run-Regedit

There could be more than one "GeneralTab" value.
Try these keys first and then search for GeneralTab (no space)

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Control Panel

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Control Panel

Remove "GeneralTab" if present.

Mike,
In most cases an entry added to the Registry is generated by spyware that is
preventing you from making the desired change(s). You really need to check
your system with either Ad-Aware or SpyBot (see below), then finish up with
HijackThis!. Visiting the SpywareInfo forum to finish cleaning up your
system is highly recommended, as neither Ad-Aware or SpyBot can no longer
*completely* remove these pests.

__Recommended Minimal Security Settings__
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/restricted.htm#Setting

When your Security settings are "soft" these sites take advantage of this
and actually install software on your system without your knowledge or
consent. In other cases downloaded software comes bundled with other
"components" (spyware\adware) that you don't realize exists until you start
having problems or discover your browser has been hijacked.
