I recently got a new laptop and installed Outlook 2003 with Business Contact
Manager (which I never used before).

Whenever I start Outlook I get the error message shown above. Does not
affect Outlook, but will not let me email files from other programs -- the
error message appears again.

It shows that I have 2 databases set up (added the second one during
troubleshooting). But when I go in to set it up it doesn't seem to find the
file.

I have reinstalled from the CD. Wanted to uninstall BCM, but I am afraid if
I do so from the second CD it might also remove Outlook. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Cynthia

Try the first suggestion, if that still does not work try the second
suggestion.

Suggestion 1: Start the sqlserver service
=======================

Since the issue maybe caused by the fact that sqlservr.exe does not running
in the
processes.

To resolve the issue: please start the MSSQL$MICROSOFTBCM service with the
steps
below:

(a) Click Start menu-> Run, type "services.msc" (without the quotation
marks) in
the Open box and press Enter.

(b) Scroll through the services to locate one called MSSQL$MICROSOFTBCM.

(c) Right-click on it and choose Start.

(d) If it's already started, Stop it then Start it again.

Suggestion 2: Create a new Outlook profile
==========================
Since this issue may be caused by the corrupted profile, please use the
following
method to create a new profile and associate BCM to this profile and see if
the
issue still occur?

1. Close Outlook.

2. Right click on the Microsoft Outlook icon on the Desktop and click
Properties.

3. Click the Show Profiles button.
Note: If you cannot find it, please double click the Mail icon in Control
Panel.

4. Click Prompt for a profile to be used and click Apply.

5. Click Add and type "test" in the Profile name box.
Note: Please don't choose the same name of your original profile.

6. Choose Add a new e-mail account and click Next.

7. Choose your email type and type the necessary information.

8. Click Next and click Finish.

9. Click Finish to exit.

10. Close Outlook and open it again.

11. Choose the TEST profile in the profile list and click OK. Does the
problem
occur in the new profile?
