The "Find" some time do not find anything

Hi at all,
when I use "Find" in Explorer (Win Xp-Pro sp2) some time it does not
find anything even when there is surely something that could find.
What I can to do to resolve this bheavior?

Now a little example: I have "share1\folder1" (a network share and
folder) which contains many files PDF files. The names of this files
start with the number 045xxxxxxx.PDF (xxxxxxx are other numbers). If I
search in the folder with the Find of windows (explorer or start
button/find) 045*.PDF the result get no indication of any file.
Note: sometimes instead, this search work!

I will do some test and will be more info and I will try to understand
under what conditions this happens...Thanks
