How do I stop XP Pro from running chkdsk and logging Event ID 55 on
every boot?
There's nothing wrong with the NTFS file system on the disk in question
- it's an image of the boot disk, does not have a drive letter assigned,
and diskmgmt.msc reports it's status as "Healthy". XP Pro boots the
"corrupt" file system just fine if I set it as the boot disk in the BIOS
- yet XP continues to complain about it every time the system boots from
the default boot disk.
I've searched the KB, but all references to this issue apply to previous
versions of Windows.
TIA
