The file ....\outlook.pst is not compatible....HELP!

I re-formatted my drive and now am trying to import
a .pst file from Outlook XP back into my computer that
has Outlook XP but I keep getting an error message "The
file ....\outlook.pst is not compatible with this version
of the Personal Folders information service."

I have tried all week every way i can think of to import
this very important .pst file (it has a lifetime of
contact and calender info in it) but nothing works. If
someone can help me in simple to understand terms, that
would be great. Even better - if you would be willing to
come into my computer remotely and do it, you would have
my undying admiration...Thanks!
 
Copy pst to hd, ensure read only is off, then in OL open the pst. Try to
avoid using import.
Do NOT overwrite any existing pst.
