Hi!

I have installed a SUS to a Win2003 server. This is not a domain controller.
I changed the group policy for client computers at the Win2000 domain
controller in the following way:

-I set the auto download and schedule the install option
-I set the SUS server name
-I set the reschedule automatic updates scheduled installations option to 5
min.
-I enabled the no auto-restatr option
- The remove access to use all Windows Update features option in user
settings not configured.

The windows update option panel became gray after the rebooting at the WinXP
client computers so they could get the GPO informations.
I approved a lot of new security updates on SUS server
..
My problem is: At the scheduled time the workstations do nothing. I can not
find any event notes or any event in SUS IIS log about happened anything.

Thanks in advance for the great answers!

Regards,

Hunyi

Hunyi,

The exact same problem happens to me too apart from I'm
using Windows 2000 machines.

I'm still looking for a solution for this but if anyone
has any answers you will make two people very happy.

Kind regards

Hi Richard

Try posting this in a SUS Newsgroup, for example in:

microsoft.public.softwareupdatesvcs

Thanks and Regards

domain controller.

Win2000 domain

installations option to 5

option in user

rebooting at the WinXP

nothing. I can not

happened anything.
This is my case, too :(

Windows 2000 Server SP4 as Domain controller
Windows 2000 Professional SP4 as clients (using only 2 for test)

Essentially, the same settings

-The windows update.log file on the client machines mark the connection
with the server as established
-No errors on the application or system log

Grrr!

I'll switch to manual update...
