The on/off button on the monitor is sticking now and then. I push it in to
turn on the monitor and it "sticks",........ie will not come back out. Is
there some safe lubricant I can use to correct this problem? Thank you, Steve

Hi,

You should be able to fine an electrical cleaner in spray form from
stores such as RadioShack that may work.

Or as an alternative, plug the monitor into a power strip and use the
switch on the power strip to turn the monitor on and off.

Thank you Bert Kinney

There is a spray product sold at Radio Shack and most large retailers
called "electrical contact cleaner". CRC is one well-known brand, there
are others, too. Drape a towel over the monitor screen, and using the
little plastic nozzle, spritz once or twice around the button, then
"work" the button. It may work, or not (depending on what splashed in
there to make it sticky in the first place, which is what I suspect
happened). It's harmless to all electrical components and plastics, but
I don't know for sure if it's harmless to a flat screen monitor and/or
it's anti-glare coating - hence the towel. Can't hurt, may help.
Another thing you could try, anyway. Be sure to see vikrant's post
about a software turn on/turn off tool, too - that's another alternative.

And it's probably best to unplug the monitor from the AC outlet first (or
make sure it stays off as you work the switch after spraying the contact
cleaner).

Doh. Good catch, Bill - I should have added that, yes.
