what a pile of poo..a circle of people who are names but have done nowt for years....crap...or do you differ ??

You're partly right, but....

Justified:

Adele

Kate Nash

Possibles:

Mika

Mark Ronson

Kanye West

Kylie (Just cos she's Kylie and she's great, that's all :D )

No-no's:

Take That

Arctic Monkeys

Foo Fighters

I still think the Brits is worthless ever since Craig David never got one award in 2001, and I don't even like his stuff.

But he'd sold a cartload of records at that time and he got zilch.

It's a ceremony organised by businessmen and old duffers, does not have it's finger on the pulse, really.

Aw it was nice to see Ossie and good old Mcartney . They tell me Victor Meldrews going to be a presenter next year .

 So wrong! :wall: Should exchange Foo Fighters with Adele and then maybe you could get away with what you've just said

I watched the first hour of the Brit Awards only to see Leona Lewis, but she wasn't on til sometime after nine and by this point I switched over to watch Tuesday repeat of 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation'. Don't really like the Brits; it usually has a bunch of naff bands and the naff bands always win the awards so ...Bleh! to it.

Sorry but not since the days of Sam Fox & Mick Fleetwood have the Brits been worth watching.
Bring them back i say!

I think, matey, you've missed the point. I like the Foo Fighters, got three of their albums and I've seen them twice, one memorable performance being on the main stage at Glastonbury in 1998.

But this ceremony should be about new talent, imo, not bands like the Foo Fighters who've been around 15 years, longer if you count Nirvana as well.

Adele, imo, is good, a fine singer, and she's new and she's young.

So, again imo, she deserved her reward.

And another thing Mr Argonaut leader, do not presume to tell me I'm wrong, it was purely my opinion offered and related to what Rush said when he started the thread. Similarly, your pov is your pov and it's your opinion.

To blindly state I'm wrong shows much immaturity mon ami.

Sir Paul McCartney ....arguably or not one of the greatest singer songwriters of all time opening his live set with a banjo and this total and utter pile of dog poo .

Dance Tonight

Everybody gonna dance tonight
Everybody gonna feel alright
Everybody gonna dance around tonight

Everybody gonna dance around
Everybody gonna hit the ground
Everybody gonna dance around tonight

(Chorus)
Well you can come on to my place if you want to
You can do anything you want to do

Everybody gonna dance tonight
Everybody gonna feel alright
Everybody gonna dance around tonight

(Whistling)

Well you can come on to my place if you want to
You can do anything you want to do

Everybody gonna stamp their feet
Everybody's gonna feel the beat
Everybody wanna dance around tonight

(Bridge)

Everybody's gonna dance tonight
Everybody gonna feel alright
Everybody gonna dance around tonight

Everybody gonna jump and shout
Everybody gonna sing it out
Everybody gonna dance around tonight

Well you can come on to my place if you want to
You can do anything you want to do

Everybody gonna dance tonight
Everybody gonna feel alright
Everybody gonna dance around tonight
Everybody gonna dance around tonight
Everybody's gonna feel alright tonight

I`m sorry but i`ve made better songs whilst sitting on the throne...What was his inspiration for this....a total no no , and Ozzy ..what a shambles , he dissapeared for an hour..did anyone notice...

So if you think it has naff bands on it why did you watch it for an hour?
As for telling someone that their opinion is wrong that just shows you to be ill informed on social etiquette!

Why should the Brit Awards be about New Talent? Why make bands good enough to last a few years lose out, if a band is good enough to get a nomination then why shouldn't they get the reward of being so good?

Also, I apologise about saying you're wrong. I guess you've yet to learn my *playfulness* ...I didn't mean it as Bam! You're wrong, I'm right--fact! ...I just meant it as a way to show how much I disagreed [with what I thought you was implying]. I hope you accept my apology? :thumb:

If you weren't so eager with poking your nose where it's not warranted and paid more attention to the bulk of my post you'd of noticed I clear stated why I watched the Brits for an hour.

Hehe, ok Jason, maybe I did overreact :D Of course I accept your apology, not sure if an apolgy's even needed but hey...

You have a point about the established bands gaining recognition I suppose, it's just I always equated these ceremonies with celebrating new talent.

But really, I didn't see the Foo Fighters having a high profile during the past twelve months, nor the Arctic Monkeys for that matter.

Granted, Take That did enjoy some considerable success, hmm....

Oh well, c'est la vie.

Here's irony.

I've got me I-Pod on shuffle and the Foo Fighter's 'My Poor Brain' just came on

By flops

exactly...and Kylie...1 song ... Vic Reeves presenting an award  I`ve gone right off MacCartney now..

Jase ..are you really leader of the argonauts m8 ? I like the monkeys though :)
