the .bmp bug

I have been looking at the messages about how to fix the graphic "save as"
and IE wants to save as a .BMP rather than a .jpg or other format.
I did clear out the TIF, and deleated the corrupted Active X files that were
unknown or corrupt. I went so far as to make .bmp's viewed with Paint instead
of the MS Fax viewer. Still no luck. This only recently happened to me, and
the only thing I have installed was Winamp 5.03, and ZA Pro update, but this
has been happening before the ZA update.
I would hope that we should not have to wait for IE/OE 7.0 for a
correction/patch.
I am open for suggestions if there are any.

To save as whatever versus BMP the usual procedure is to clear out the
Internet Explorer Temp Files Cache.

Does disabling Zone Alarm help?

This issue can occur if you have "Do not save encrypted pages to disk"
selected in Tools, Options, Advanced Tab and are loading the page over a
secure connection (https).
