I get the error message "The ADP File Is Not in the
Correct Format" when trying to open a ".mdb" file. I
can't compress the database, import the objects to a new
or open in a decompiled state. Does anyone have any
suggestions on what caused this and how I might be able to
salvage anything from it.

Hi Billy,
I know I've had this error before. I'm just
trying to rack my brain to remember how we solved it. I
think it was something to do with another user or process
having the database open when it got saved. Also I think
we solved it by opening and closing in design view then
compact/repair whilst making sure nothing else was
accessing it.

As I say not sure about this, just what I think I can
remember. I might be wrong.

HTH

Chris

Clarification
When and ADP is created the Extension is ADP.

if the aDP has been rename to mdb. it will confuse Access.

if you have a Compiled ADP the Extension will Be ADE. Changing the Extension
will not Decompile the application.

Next you can not compress the DB with an ADP, but you can compress the ADP
modules code like forms and vba modules.
