The Address List Could Not Be Displayed

After an upgrade to 2003 I imported my contacts and am recieving the
following error when i try to access them any way aside from clicking on the
contacts icon.

"The address list could not be displayed. The contacts folder associated
with this address list could not be opened. It may have been moved or
deleted or you do not have permissions. "

Any suggestions on how to correct this?

Never import from a PST. There's no need.

Click Tools>E-mail Accounts>View or change existing directories or address
books>Next. Select Outlook Address Book and click Change. Remove the
incorrect folder references there.
