The add to dictionary in the spelling tool became unavaiolable. .

Grammar: Custom Dictionaries...?

The dictionary may be full - on some versions it is limited to 64kb. Start
another one. You can have more than one.

May I ask HOW, please? I use Word 97.

I clicked on Custom Dictionary but did not know how to proceed. I saw a bos
with the label "proof" but did not have a file name to insert.
 
What version of Word are you using? It makes a difference.

It's been a while since I looked at Word 97, but you should have the
facility to do this at Tools > options > Spelling & Grammar > custom
dictionaries.
