Thanks to whomever it was that recommended this program. GREAT!

I'm not even sure it was someone in this group or elsewhere. Anyway, just
sharing the wealth.

Sounds good, but everybody using Mozilla should note the following:

"The new All in One SECRETMAKER version requires the Microsoft
Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher"

You are correct John. Thanks for adding that. I should have
included
that it is for Windows..all versions 98 and above and IE 5.0
and above.
Thanks for the correction/addendum/clarification. But for
those using
Windows, they may find it useful. BTW, according to the site
there are
other additions/enhancements in progress; who knows perhaps
something for
other OSs. But from what I gather those other OSs aren't in
need of such
programs, right?

Does the spam filter work? I couldn't figure it out, anyway it looks like
for outlook express only if you go by the icon. Even so, I couldn't get
it to work, the documents are lacking.

A lot of stuff they advertise seem to be a future feature.

Eg banner blocker doesn't work yet, the bayesian logic of the spam filter
doesn't work yet, "worm hunter" doesn't work yet.

I also wasn't impressed by the features that _did_ work...

For example the popup blocker worked but it was one of those types that
close the popups after they opened (as opposed to one that doesn't open
it at all), so there's a delay that caused the screen to flicker. As a
bonus there's this irriating pop sound that you can't remove?

The "cleaners" seem okay, but rather basic compared to mrublaster etc
There's a rudimentary cookie manager.

Then there is this claim about it's "privacy protector"..

"From that moment the Privacy Protector is masking yours and computers
specific information every time they are requested. Privacy Protector
protects you from being profiled by suppressing the common denominator
and sending dummy data’s instead. This makes it impossible to merge the
collected data to a specific profile.
Furthermore the Privacy Protector gives a gazer the impression that there
is a network with many computer behind.
With this unique technology there is no need to hide your IP address
trough Proxy Servers or Anonymous Services."

I'm not sure what this is suppose to do, but every test site I've being
to, as no problems figuring out all aspects of my computer, browser info
etc.Have to play with this some-more.

As you can gather from my words, I'm wondering what's so great about
secert maker. And all in one suite is good but only if it does what it
advertises.

PS This is not a flame against Helen, just my opinion of secert maker.

I'm using OE and EVERY one of those functions works and works
WELL.
It is specifically for Windows 98/and above through XP and
IE/OE 5.0 and above. And with Win98/and SE, OE 5/5.5/and 6.0
it is super. And there is some training involved regarding
the spam control, but he not only gives written instructions,
but icons that show exactly how to set up the filters. As
time goes by, the pop spam filter grows wise... especially for
those that throw in the nonsensical alphabetical letters near
the end of the trash.

PS I'm not relating to the things you're saying because I'm
not experiencing them (e.g., items not working.... for me, all
of them are working. Bothersome pop-up? Does not compute. I
don't get any pop up. And as for the 'privacy'... cookies,
history, no banners, no ads, no popups, windows cleaner... .
When I initially downloaded it, I couldn't get the spam filter
to state it was working... baysian logic, etc. But after I
rebooted and opened my browser (my little icon sits in the
traybar and once I click IE... zap..zap, zap... . You can turn
on or off all and/or a combination of the features. If you
want to see how it works, I guess you'll have to check it out
in IE 5.0 or above. But it does all the things it says it
does. And I have no cookies, history, etc.. So I cna't
relate to you criticism of it "not working"? I don't get a
flicker, a pop
up nor any of the things you described.

Strange it is has if we are using different software. And yes, I rebooted.
Anyway on the interface it says Worm hunter, Banner Blocker and Bayesian
logic are "not available", the help files concur.

http://www.secretmaker.com/support/default.html#00000093fc0b49a0f - It
says about spam fighter trainer "This is a future option coming soon. "

http://www.secretmaker.com/support/default.html#00000093f40c3b81c - For
Worm hunter- This is a future option coming soon.

http://www.secretmaker.com/support/default.html#00000093f40becf1a - for
Banner Block - This is a future option coming soon.

I was testing using IE 6 and OE.
