Sorry for shouting, thanks for all your help. I followed
your instructions and it works hip hip hoorah!!! thanks
again. how did you learn to become an expert, did you go
to school or self teach it. I am really amazed by all
that access can do, but it usually takes me forever,
because i learn by trial and error and this newsgroup.

:) :)

I'm happy to hear that you got it working.

As for how to learn, each person has their own best
approach. For me, it was mostly trial and error and these
newsgroups, but I was a software developer for a very long
time before starting on Access so I kind of knew what to
look for. A lot of others self teach by using books that
follow a logical progression of topics and details. Still
others find the structured environment of the classroom to
be a better way to organize the learning process.

Regardless of how you approach it, learning something new,
especially something as complex as relational databases and
the software that manages them, takes a long time. So just
keep plugging away at it and before you know it, things will
start to clear up for you.

See the Netiquette section at http://www.mvps.org/access/
for suggestions on the effective use of newsgroups. And
while your there, take note of the incredible wealth of
other information at that site.
