Thanks for your link in answer to my "Compression parameter settings". The
recommendation and full document are exactly what I wanted.

Can recommend anyone using TMPGEnc to compress video to read it.

Thanks again well appreciated.

Hi Graham,

Me again, just a quick query, the site you recomended, and the link from
there to the full article were very good, except the author does not think
much of TMPGEnc's audio compression, and gives no indication of the parameter
settings to use if, like me, you have to use it as you have no other means of
compressing the audio.
Is there by any chance another site that gives me some indication of what I
should set the "Stream Type, Sample Frequency, Bitrate" parameters at. I'm
not particularly looking for "Cinema Surround Sound" just an acceptable
resulting quality.

I'm afraid I haven't used TMPG for several years, so cannot be much more
help with this I'm afraid. From the many users I have heard from they are
quite happy with the audio settings used in the standard settings.
If you want better you will need to spend some money on an AC-3 encoder to
get better results with a smaller file size.
Graham

I agree. I don't use TMPGenc often but when I do the standard audio
compression settings result in quality audio that I've never had a problem
with.
