what an overwhelming response from you all. thank you.

just a few points to clarify.

1) I designed the website using standard html and a mailto: script to make
email links.

2) this was hosted on a server under my control (and paid for by me)

3) the client had no Anti virus software on an old laptop (unbeknown to me)

4) the virus was (allegedly) on his laptop using an existing dialup account

i hope this helps answer a few points for all

Both Mat and Richard are obviously new to usenet. I *could* be
wrong, but I think Mat may be Richard's sock puppet. Same
country. Same ISP. ;-) (Coincidence or fact? YOU be the
judge.)

The usenet community knows it's bad netiquette to start a NEW
thread for a discussion already in progress. Breaks up the flow
of conversation, and people that didn't read the original
thread have no idea what this NEW thread is about, 'cause it
refers to the OLD thread without explaining anything. The OP
should've at least included the message ID of the original
thread in his post.
