This is because your previous monitor (obviously a CRT) had a higher range
(CRTs generally do). You need to RTFM that came with the monitor, reboot
into safe mode and set the resolution and frequency the TFT can handle. Once
you've done that, reboot to normal and set it to the optimal recommend
resolution/frequency (again you'll need to RTFM to learn what that is).
Do you have your old monitor handy still? If yes, reattach that. Go into
Display properties and reduce the refresh rate and other settings within
the scope that the TFT uses. Example: While refresh rates greater than 75
are desirable with CRT, a TFT can usually give the same flicker free
experience with a setting around 60.
