I just bought a Samsung SM913N 19" TFT monitor. setting it at 1280 x
720 gives me strange fonts in Win XP. The icons on desktop also look
stretched. I cannot seem to change a setting for this. Is this normal?
Running at 1024 x 768 seems to be ok.

How can I change the display fonts please?

This is a standard 4:3 width:height monitor or a 16:9 width:height
widescreen monitor? A standard format resolution is 800x600,1024x768,
1280x920 or x1024, 1600x1200, etc. It looks to me that it is standard
4:3 format and not 16:9 widescreen.

The SM913N will look best at 1280x1024, the native resolution, which is a
5:4 aspect ratio.

This is true for the majority of 19" TFT monitors.

Thanks. That fixed the problem.

TFT monitors have what is called a Native Resolution, unlike CRT monitors.
Native Resolution is the ONLY resolution that that monitor will look correct
at. You don't have a choice. For 19" TFT monitors the correct Native
Resolution is 1280 x 1024. Reset your monitor to this resolution for a
correct image.
