TFT Fonts

I am new to TFT screens. I am using XP Pro.

What is the best way to change the screen fonts please? Is Right click
on Desktop, Appearance the only way to do this?

I find that the fonts in some application menu bars for example are
not easy to read and the applications do not allow a change.

First of all, make sure that the resolution is set for the screens native
resolution. 17" can be 1024x768 or 1280x1024. 19" are usually 1280x1024.

Secondly, some users prefer using font smoothing and some don't. In the
Appearance tab, under the Effects button you can disable font smoothing, set
it for Standard or set it for ClearType... I prefer cleartype as it really
smooths the font out.
