Textbox over laps Label

Using A2000 and Win2000.

I have placed textboxes on my form and moved the labels within approximately
1/16 of an inch in front of the textboxes.
This looks OK in form view but in preview the textboxes appear to be
overlapping the labels. I was hoping to fill out the form and then print the
results.
When this odd effect occurred I decided to save the form as a report and
found the new report also has this odd behavior.
Font is Tahoma.
Whats going on here???
TIA, Rick

HI Rick.

Yes, I've seen the behavior on some machines, where the label size that
Access gives you in design view is not correct. Not sure if this is a fault
with the font metrics, the video driver, or possibly even the printer
driver.

You may be able to adjust it by selecting the labels in design view and
choosing Format | Size | To Fit. If the labels increase in width compared to
what happens when you just type into the label, you have solved the problem.

Alternatively a change of font (e.g. Arial) or a change of driver may be the
long-term solution.

"Differences between display and printer fonts and drivers" would seem a
reasonable guess to me. You do know that you can modify the form or the
report in design view, don't you? Fix it so that it appears the way you want
it in preview/printed form, even if it looks a little strange in design
view.

Thanks for the replies Larry and Allen,
Yes, I normally scratch build all my forms to mimic the original hardcopy.
I'll try your suggestions but I think now that the form may be corrupt. I
saved it as an A97 app and tried to open the form and received an error
message. All other form in the A2000 version work OK.

Thanks, Rick
