I lost my writing program when I "Upgraded" to XP home. I have a column I write for a paper and had to use Word-Pad to write it. Normally it's a 24-26KB file. BUT Word-Pad unformats it when it's stored or written to a CD and it becomes about 6.2KB. My problem is that I have a folder with 2 years of writing that I just added a column written in Word-Pad. If I transfer all these individual writings to a CD to give one of my children, how will they be able to open the compressed file unless they have XP ? I hate to say this, but putting on XP was a major backward step for me. I lost Easy CD creator, I lost some options and the "Status monitor" for my Epson printer. And my "Polaroid Photo Max no longer runs under XP. I had to purchase a new Norton anti-virus and additional memory. All told I think XP is nothing more than a ploy to sell more Msft software packages.

Windows XP has many advancements but as with any upgrade there are at
least two things to do before upgrading:
1. Are the added features needed?
2. Is the computer ready for windows XP:

This would have let you know inn advance about EZ CD Creator, Norton
and the other problems before investing.

If you lost a writing program, what program did you use?
No word processor except Word Pad comes with any Microsoft OS.
If you do not already have it, Works Suite or another word processor
or suite may be in order:
