Text size when composing message

Windows XP. Office 2007. The text size when I compose a message is huge
even though the box above says that it is Calibri 11. Message recepients
get normal size.

What is going on with the large size when I write a message?

....and thanks for the "you're welcome" instead of the "your welcome" that
permeates the web because nobody seems to study English grammer any more...
