Thanks very much for this. Unfortunately, what I want the text to do is
to
increase proportionally, not decrease. When I followed the steps you
gave
me,
I was able to make the text shrink when the text box became too small,
but
not grow when the text box had lots of room. Any further suggestions
would
be
most appreciated.
I'm really wondering why 2007 doesn't recognize the autofit text to
placeholder settings of earlier versions.
I am also wondering why 2007 will not let me see what's in a textbox
once
I
place a graphic on top of it (to move in and out with custom
animation).
In
2003, all I did was click on the underlying text box and it came to the
front
for reading and editing. Now, in 2007, I have to move the graphics out
of
the
way. Is there some way around this?
Thanks for any enlightenment!
Laura
:
In 2007 you can override the defaults for individual placeholders
Right click > Format Shape > TextBox > Make sure "Shrink Text on
Overflow"
is checked.

In a presentation created in PowerPoint 2003, now being edited in
2007,
I
can't get the text to autofit even though that is the default option
selected
in Options>Autoformat. Can anyone tell me how I can get this to
work? I
do
not get the little box to the lower left of the text box that would
give me
the ability to manually tell it to autofit.
