Text in drop down list of combo box is not visible

I am unable to read any text displayed in the drop down list of a combo box.
Once an item is selected, the text is displayed in the text box area. I
have tried changing all the text properties for the combo box to no avail.
Other (non winform apps) display fine on my system. I have also tried
modifying my desktop color schemes etc.

I'm using Microsoft Visual C# .NET 69586-335-0000007-18554 with Microsoft
Windows XP Professional 5.1.2600 SP 2 build 2600 on a HP Workstations
XW8200.

I would appreciate any help I can get to resolve this issue.
