Hi, all. Forgive this basic question from a newbie, but is it possible to
create a presentation from a previously written Word Document, without copy &
paste page by page? If so, how can you get the text to flow if/when it
overfills a slide?

Hi Pete

To create a ppt from a doc do the following:
1. Format all the text you want to be a slide title as Heading Style 1 in
Word
2. Format all the text you want to be first level bullet points as Heading
Style 2 in Word
3. Format all the text you want to be second level bullet points as Heading
Style 3 in Word, etc
4. Close the Word doc & open PowerPoint
5. Select the template you want to use
6. Insert -> slides from outline -> browse to Word doc (2003) or Home tab ->
New Slide drop down -> slides from outline -> browse to Word doc (2007)
7. PowerPoint will create a new slide every time it comes across Heading
Style 1 in the Word doc. It will ignore any text not in a Heading Style.
8. Play with your PowerPoint file as normal - I think you will still get the
normal overflow options on each individual slide

Hope that help,
Lucy
