Text boxes in Graphs

Help....I have a graph that one of the criteria is Between[start date?]and
[end date?]. I would like to add text box to the graph that would reflect
this date range. I have used the expression builder in properties for the
control source, tried writing my own expressions (at least a dozen tries)
refering back to the parent querie. I also tried to refer the control
source all the way back to the original table. The only result that I have
gotten is a blank field or #name. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Rather than add text boxes to the graph, consider adding text boxes to your
report. You can set their control sources to:
=[Start Date?]
etc

A more robust solution gets the parameters/criteria from controls on forms
rather than parameter prompts.
