I've got a form that when I place a text box on it by dragging from
the field list or by the textbox tool in the toolbox, places only the
field without a label. Other forms I have place the label as well
when I add a text box.

It seems to me that some time ago I changed something so I could place
the field without the label, but I can't remember what it was.
Anybody know?

Russ,

Sounds to me like your 'ControlDefaults' for text boxes was
modified by being reset while a text box with no label was
selected.

There may be another way to do this, but copy in a full one
with the label from another form and then while it is
selected go to Format/SetControlDefaults and it should set
it back. These are saved individually for each form.

Sounds like the default setting for your text box has altered... in design
view place a text box on a form, then place a label on your form and enter
some text into it... both of these can be taken from the Toolbox, then
select the label and cut/copy it into the clipboard... select the text box
and then paste the label onto it... then select Format:Set Control
Defaults... the next time you add a text box it will have a label.

HTH.

Thanks guys. That did it. Now I know how to place text boxes without
the labels too.
