As the subject says: The text box (input box) of my IE 6.0
is not working. I tried to uninstall /re-install / repair
and all of them do not work.
->Windows ME using IE 6.0

Anybody have this kind of problem before?
Can somebody help me please? Thanks in advance.

Detail description: I cannot use the text boxes of IE 6.0
for example at yahoo.com or msn.com, I cannot use the
search text box or when I wanted to login to my yahoo
email, I cannot click on the text box or write stuff in
the text box. My other browser (Netscape) works just fine.

I think the reason behind this was because I tried to
install Norton Antivirus 2004 professional. I got a big
mess out of it. I got lots of error msgs because of the
Norton Antivirus. So, I had to uninstall etc. and ended up
NOT having any antivirus. Somehow.. whatever I did
corrupted IE also.

Have you found the fix for this yet? I am experiencing the EXACT same
problem. We are running Symantec Anti-virus Corporate edition.

Thanks,
Brandon

We've figured this one out (for us anyway). To fix this:

Start Windows 2000 in safe mode.
Go to Add/Remove programs and remove the IE update patches, then restart
Now go to Add/Remove programs and select the IE and choose "Repair"
Then go to windows update and get the latests security updates.

This fixed our problems with being locked out of text box, text field, form
field, input box, search etc.

Thanks,
Brandon R.
