Hi there,

Is it possible to create an action setting for a text box? Powerpoint
2003 lets me do it, but he 'forgets' it afterwards again!?

Or is it only possible to hyperlink graphics?

Thanks.

Jerome

Yes, you can do both, but if you are viewing the show with the PowerPoint
2003 Viewer it may not work. Can you tell us more about what you are trying
to do and what steps you are taking to do it? Are you linking to a file?
Is the path to the file extremely long? Any details you can provide would
be appreciated.

Hmm, I tried the following now:

I inserted a graphic with the text bits on it and then created
transparent autoshapes for each and associated an action setting (jump
to an other silde) to it. On my PC that works just fine. But on a PC
with just the viewer it won't!? Is that right?

Why doesn't the viewer work exactly as the integrated viewer in Powerpoint?

Thanks.

No need to add an invisible autoshape over it to assign the action to.
Insert your graphic/object on your slide, right-click and select "Action
Settings", click the "Hyperlink to" dropdown and select "Slide", choose the
slide to jump to. If you want to see that the object is a hyperlink be sure
to click the "Highlight click" check box at the bottom left before you close
out the Action Settings dialog box.

The Viewer can handle this just fine!
