text becomes ############# in Excel

Is there a limit on how many lines you can have for one cell?

My text with multiple lines shows up entry field but it shows up as
many ####### to fill up the cell length when not highlighted.

Is there a way to fix that?

Re-format the cells to General.

Excel has a problem with text cells containing between 255 and 1024
characters.
