I need help please! Am new to power point - I have a chart with bullet points. I would like to animate line for line - that is, one line should come in, then the next line should come in when I need it (by mouse click?). Do I first have to make seperate text fields? If so, how do I do that without losing the formatting? Thanks! - Cheryl

Do you mean you're using the layout with bulleted text on one side of the
slide and the chart on the other? Are you trying to animate the bulleted
text or actual datapoints in the chart?

Also, which version of PPT are you using?

See if this PPT FAQ entry helps:

Thank you so much Kathy J, it was just what I needed. Actually I had done everything correctly before, but what I didn't know was, that to test the function, I needed to actually watch the presentation. I had been looking at the preview window within custom animation, but that wasn't showing the effect. Thanks again

Hello Ech

I am too experienced to even know the difference between a slide and a chart, but in any case Kathy answered my question and solved my problem. Thanks very much for your help
