Mr problem is basically generating autonumber with combination of text...
For example J0001, J0002
When i open a form on JOB, it will automatically generate an autonumber for
me
and when i open a form on Loan it will generate autonumber starting with
L0001 and so on....
May I know the way please..

You coul try setting a format on the field in the table like "L000"
When you enter some data in the table the autonumber will be presented to
you as "L0001" and so on....

Thanks a lot...This is exactly what I want...thanks ya Maurice

Your welcome...
I saw that you posted your question twice. Reading the thread I must say
that you should take in to consideration the comments Dale and Arvin posted.
They do make sense and you might need them for future use.
I know this post gave you an asnwer but I thought I just bring it to your
attention once more.

And please, in the future, don't post the same question here twice. As in
this case, it splits the responses up and frequently wastes the time of the
people here who are trying to help. Without knowing about the other posting
and responses, people may waste time posting the same solutions. Everyone
here is volunteering their time and and skills to help others, and have
"real" lives apart from this forum, so answers may be slow in coming at times.
The appropriate ettiquette is, after waiting several hours and not getting a
response, to "bump" your posting, which puts it back up to the top of the
queue. Simply post an answer to your own question with the word "bump" in it.

Good Luck!

Yaya..thanks you
