I've been assigned the task of evaluating WinSever2k3. I just downloaded a
copy of Windows Server 2003 eval and I'm using the self paced training kit.
How do I configure my network so that I can use it in a test lab environment
without affecting the production network?

The easiest way to do it would be to get a cheap cable/DSL router and put
the test computer behind the router - put the router between the network and
the server. That will give you an isolated network to "play" with. You
could buy a true router and do the same but an el-cheapo router should
provide enough protection to your production network.
