Test lab with firewall?

We would like to test things such as file replication
between our two sites (one domain, one DC in each site) in
a test environment before setting them up on our
production environment.

We have a test lab set up that, for political reasons, is
not allowed to be connected to the network here or the
outside world (trust me...I wish it were different).

This test lab consists of two W2K servers (each in a
different site, different subnet connected via just a lil
hub). We'd like to set up a simple firewall between the
two to test things like file replication (ya know...shut
down the ports that are shut down on our production
firewalls now and see what happens).

So...does anyone have any recommendations on how best to
set up a scenario like this for testing?

Hi,

What you are doing is pretty fine. I would suggest that
you have two routers as well connected back to back so
that you can checkout the bandwidth requirements as well.
You can configure the access rules on router to shut down
ports etc, firewall setup perse will not be required
then. This setup should give you a good idea of all that
you require to replicate in production enviroment.
