Test Account Settings

For new, or to change, account.
When I test settings I get
"Unable to send test Message. Please verify the E-mail Address field."
I've checked & re-checked
I've deleted & re-added
after hours I still can't get it done!!!
 
What have you entered in the email address field? Some ISP's require the
username, eg JDoe, and some require the complete email address, eg
(e-mail address removed).
