When Playing Mpeg Through Real Player Or Windows Media Player Picture Quality Is Terrible I Have Window 2000 Sp4

What is the matter with the video quality, is it grainy or jerky? Has this problem started recently?
 
thats odd, if you play it in realplayer at the top of the window by the video length/time it should say a number in Kbps

what is the video and where did you get it from ? is it an online stream ? is it with any video ?
 
below 500Kbps is going to be grainy, theres not really anything you can do to make it better quality
