I did a fresh install of Win2k Server on Host A. I also
applied Sp4 and I installed TermService. I can connect to
other hosts via TermService but the I am not able to
connect Host A via TermService.
This is the error I saw in the Event Viewer.
'wmi adap was unable to create object index 2580 for
performance library termservice because no value was found
in the 009 subkey'
I checked the Services of Terminal Services and the
Terminal Service is not listed. I copied some registry
settings from another Wins2k Server to have the service
show on the Services and it shows Starting. When I try to
start or restart the service all the options are greyed
out.
I have tried to install Remote Desktop Connection,
Terminal Service Client (serveral times), and reapplied
Sp4 but TermService is still not working. Is there a fix
for this or a way to manually rebuild Terminal Serivce? I
am trying not to do a quick repair from the Wind2k CD on
the host because there are many applications that will be
effected and have to be rebuilt. Though I am sure the
quick repair will not fix the problem. Any suggestions
appreciated.
