I have been logging into my work from Remote Desktop
connection. It has been working for several months. In
the last few days it started giving me license would
expire in so many days error. Yesterday it said "0" days
left and now it will not establish a connection with the
remote. What do I do to correct this. I use XP home
edition. Do I need to switch to Pro to avoid a licensing
problem? Or is this a registration problem with Home
Edition?

This depends if you are connect to a 2003 Terminal Server
or 2000, if you are connecting to a 2003 then you probably
are out of licenses and need to purchase more. If it is a
2000 server, same thing, execpt 2000 should allow pro
machines to connect w/o a license installed on the TS

you also have to be running a liscensing server for
terminal services at work, (if it is a 2000,2003, server)
it will work for a period of time, then expire.

For both Windows 2000 and Windows 2003, you can setup Terminal
Services in Remote Administration mode (although, in Win2K3, it is
enabled via Remote Desktop) that allows two terminal services sessions
without needing a license server..

I am having the same problem. They tell me that we'll
have to purchase XP Pro. Any truth to that. I don't
understand why it expires anyways.

If you are trying to use Win2K3 in "Application Mode", then you must
purchase TSCAL's.... You can use Remote Desktop in Win2K3 that does
not require TSCAL's...
