We are running Windows 2000 Server, and most of our workstations are Win2K Professional. However, some are Windows XP, and it would be nice to be able to remotely connect to the server from my office to reset passwords and enable accounts when our students lock themselves out.
I know that terminal services doesn't work from XP to 2K, but is there a way to do that? It is pretty time consuming to have to be in the vicinity of the server after classes start.

Try installing the server admin tools from the windows 2000 server cd or
from the server's system32 directory, adminpak.exe

or download the server 2k3 tools
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...15-c8f4-47ef-a1e4-a8dcbacff8e3&DisplayLang=en

and use remote desktops.....never tried it, but worth a try...

Robert,

Connecting to a W2K Terminal Server from XP Pro does work
when using either XP's RDP or the older TS client that
comes with W2K. Take a look at XP's online help and
search for "remote desktop".

Good luck.
