The situation here is, our other office has been
experiencing some slow downs, as far as their connectivity
with Terminal Services, they usually have 2 Programs open,
Time Matters and Microsoft Word. Why do they experience
these slow downs? 7 people are always connected from
there. Could it be the internet connection?? we have DSL
here at the main office and DSL at the second office, do
that make a difference? Could it be that we need to
upgrade to a T1? could that be it? or could it be the old
server cant handle 7 people running Terminal Services?
even though thats basicly the only thing thats running in
that server? I check the event viewer, theres nothing that
will indicate that Terminal Services crashed, and i check
the Memory Usage on the Old Server, and it doesnt even use
half, but does that mean anything?
Usually when that happens and they slow down, i would
usually reboot the old server only reason being, we here
at main office does not experience any slow down at all
ever since ive setup the new server and only the second
office is connected to the old server. And by rebooting
the second office only, will go down and not the whole
office. Is that right?
We also noticed that when not everyone are connected thru
terminal services at the second office that they dont have
any slow downs. But once everyone is connected (7 people)
they slow down bad.
Could it be that because the Terminal Services is running
on the old server p3 1ghz 512 ram? I thought that it
shouldnt be a problem for the old server considering that
its the only thing in the old server is running, just
Terminal Services and active directory. I moved all the
memory consuming programs to the new server. Would that be
an issue? Could it be that the active directory is not set
on the new serveR?
Please advice as to what can i do different, i know im
still new at thisand still going to school im always
learning something new. If theres something im doing wrong
let me know. If theres maybe something i should do
different please advise.
Thank you very much and appreciate all the help i can get
in this.
