Hi

I have a Windows 2003 Terminal server and my licence
server also runs Windows 2003 along with ISA Server.

I have a total of 15 CALS installed on my licence server
and have recently been buying Compaq T20 Terminals. I have
rolled out 5 of these devices and they work no problem.

But now I can't make anymore connections to my Terminal
Server. The errors are "The Client Could not establish a
connection to the remote computer"

The most likely causes for this error are:

1) Remote Connections might not be enabled at the remote
computer.

2) The Maximum number of connections was exceeded at the
remote computer.

3) A Network error occurred while establishing the
connection.

I think it's being caused by a problem with the licence
server. As when I look at the licence manager it is not
showing any licence's as being issued.

Please help this is driving me mad !!!!!!

Licensing problems basically come in 2 flavours: either the TS
cannot locate the LS, or there is a problem with issuing licenses
to the clients (or both). Check the EventLog, it will tell you
loud and clear which problem you have.

Which type of licenses did you install on the LS, Per User or Per
Device? If Per User, check if the Terminal Server also is set to
use "Per User" licensing. The default is "Per Device".
You can check this from Administrative Tools - Terminal Services
Configuration - Server Settings
If it's set to Per Device mode, it will look for a Device TS CAL
and will not issue your Per User TS CALs.

Check this article, it explains that even after you have
switched licensing mode on the TS, your Per User TS CAL count will
not be decremented:
