I have a windows 2000 terminal server with 2 hard drives.
One is for system files, the other is for data. Should I
point the temp folders to the second drive(optimization)
instead of the default system drive? What is flattemp? Do
I need to use this command if I point to the second drive?

Thanks.

You can redirect the temp folders onto a different drive
if you like, it is up to you. For me, I didn't redirect
the temp folders anywhere, I just left them as part of the
cached local profile. However, after the user logs out
the cached roaming profile is deleted, and I've forced the
temp folder to load be saved back to the roaming profile.
I've also set through policies to delete the cached
roaming profile upon logout, which means that the temp
folder is deleted upon logout.

Flattemp is used to force all temp files into the same
folder, rather than creating a different folder on a per-
user basis.
