Terminal Server Licensing tool doesn't show Temporary License

I must manage a system with the following features:
- an active directory with two windows 2000 domain
controllers
- a member server with Windows 2003 standard server and
terminal services in application mode.
- the Terminal Services Licensing Tool is installed on
both Windows 2003 and a domain controller (both
activated) but I set in the windows 2003's registry the
DefaultLicenseServer in
HKLM\CurrentControlSet\Services\TermService\Parameters to
domain controller.
- Clients are Windows 98 SE, Windows ME, Windows 2000 Pro
and Windows XP

If I run the lsview.exe resource kit tool on Windows 2003
server it shows that the License Server (Enterprise) is
the domain controller. It is correctly but if I open the
Terminal Services Licensing tool on domain controller I
see only "Existing Windows 2000 Licenses" group and not
the temporary licenses group. Why? How I see the
Termporary License?

Thanx in advance

Lorenzo

Yes, I have 2 license servers. One over a domain
controller and the other over windows 2003 member server.

I see only "Existing Windows 2000 Licenses" group
(without entry) in Windows 2000 and "Existing Windows
2000 Licenses - Terminal Services CAL Token (per device)"
(without entry) in windows 2003 server (terminal server).

But I want to deinstall the tool from windows 2003, and I
set the default license server to domain controller.

What I can do?

Thanx in advance.

Hi Rob, maybe I don't understand about the license
logging. I explain you about my server, services and
tools:
On the Win2000 domain controller I have installed:
- License Logging Service
- Terminal Services (in administration mode)
- Terminal Services Licensing
- Licensing Tool
- Terminal Services Licensing Tool

On the win2003 member server I have installed:
- Licensing Logging service
- Terminal Services (in application mode)
- Terminal Services Licensing
- Licensing Tool
- Terminal Services Licensing Tool

I don't see the temporary terminal client licenses
anywhere.

What must I do to see the temporary terminal client
licenses on domain controller?
Which services can I deinstall on win2003 memeber server?

Thanx in advance.
Lorenzo

On the Terminal Server, use the registry method described in
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;q279561 to point the
TS to the LS (on the same machine).

You can uninstall License Logging service. This tracks Windows Server CALs,
but you can do that manually, if you prefer.
