Hello,
I manage a network with win2k server. We have to work using
terminal services client(MSTSC).I am not able to
understand the proper concept of how the licensing takes
place. As a result I have to reinstall my total system
after 90 days.Basically how can I increase my client
licenses.
1.Is it machine specific(ie client specific).
2.Is it user specific.(TS users)
3.Is it mode specific(Administrative/remote administration
mode)

Please help

There is no need to re-install TS. What you have to do is:

1. Make sure that your servers run at least SP3 (an important
Licensing Enhancement was included in SP3)
2. Install and activate Terminal Services Licensing Server (LS) on
a Domain Controller
3. If all of your clients run W2K Pro or XP Pro, you are finished.
These clients get a free TS CAL from the LS.
4. If you have clients that run W9x, Windows CE, Windows ME, NT4,
W2K Home or XP Home, you have to buy a TS CAL for *every* client
and install those TS CALs on the LS.

TS CALs are per device and are only needed in Application Server
mode. If you run in Remote Administration mode, you do not need a
LS or TS CALs at all, but you are then limited to a maximum of 2
concurrent connections.

Note: you also need a normal server CAL for every concurrent
connecting device. Fot further details, see:
