Hi:

I want to implement TS in my current win 2k LAN. But I
will want to know if I need beside the clients, a
dedicated server or equipment or if I can install it on
my current Domain controller servers?.

I want to install it becuse we will get new very small
cubicles, and I was thinking in TS clients because they
are small. Other suggestion from my co-workers is obtain
small pcs, like the Dell Optiplex, that can even be
attached under the desk.

Thanks and, yes I am a Lego in this, that's why the
above question sounds weird ;0)

TS is NOT recommended to run on a DC, for security & performance reasons, but can (I can't guarantee that it will in future Windows Versions, as they've removed this from SBS 2003).

How many users will need to connect to the TS

To run TS for 20-80 users I usually recommend a Dual-CPU Rack Mount Server, i.e. Compaq ProLiant DL360 G3

TS Requires both Windows CALs and Terminal Services CALs for each device/user that uses TS + licensing for the applications users will use on the TS

For space saving Wyse makes some nice LCD Monitors with integrated Thin Client, i.e

http://www.wyse.com/products/winterm/index.ht

Space saving is one advantage of using thin clients, but I wouldn't base an implementation on that fact alone. You'll have to think of other things like users that need a local scanner or need to sync a Pocket PC, both of which currently aren't possible on a Thin Client

TS can save you bunches of money in support & Windows Licensing costs over traditional PCs
